Guiding Principles of the Color Code
Unlocking the Secrets of the 'Why' behind Behaviour
Unlike personality assessments that describe only your behaviour, the Color Code reveals the driving core motive – the innate reasons – behind your behaviour, enabling you to see yourself for who you really are. Your driving core motive determines your needs and wants, which determines how you react with the world around you. It is the core of your innate personality. The Color Code is the ultimate tool of self-awareness because not only does it reveal your innate strengths and limitations, your Needs and wants, but it also teaches you how to utilize these traits to excel in your personal and business endeavours.
The Color Code enables you to create a clear and accurate self-perception and enhances your ability to relate effectively to others. Though anyone can choose to develop different strengths, characteristics, and personality styles, everyone closely relates with just one of the four driving core motives. The Color Code teaches you how to best interact with each color, giving you the cutting edge in your personal and business relationships. It is an invaluable tool in self-discovery. You will learn to own your strengths, overcome your limitations, and understand and speak the language of someone else’s personality. Before you learn how the Color Code will help you excel in your interpersonal relationships, there are five fundamental principles of the Color Code that you need to understand.

The Color Code is motive based.
The Color Code works because it identifies why you do what you do (driving core motive) rather than merely explaining what you do (behaviour). Behaviour can be imitated, copied, and faked, but if you know the true driving core motive behind the behaviour, you will have a very clear picture of what an individual is all about.
You have only one core driving motive.
Your personality is compelled by only ONE of the four driving core motives (DCM), presented by the colors Red (Power), Blue (Intimacy), White (Peace), and Yellow (FUN). Very few people have ever scored 100% in one single color on the personality assessment.
Everyone has varying degrees of their driving core motive mixed with strengths and imitations of the others driving core motives. Therefore, each person is individual and unique. For example, all Whites share the diving core motive of Peace, but no two Whites are exactly alike.

Your driving core motive was present at birth, and you cannot change it.
You were born with your driving core motive intact. (Few have not witnessed the differences in siblings from birth. Many mothers can note a difference in their child while still in the womb.) Naturally, some parts of your personality do change over time. You may not have been born a good listener, but over time, have learned that skill. However, if you were born Red, you will die Red with the driving core motive of Power. Learn to embrace the strengths of your driving core motive. Over time you can, and should, work to acquire the strengths of other driving core motives but that will never change your core color.
All four colors are of equal importance.
No driving core motive is better than another. Each brings equally valuable, albeit different gifts to the world.

All four colors are neither good nor bad.
No driving core motive is innately good or bad. Biases for or against each driving core motive are naturally driven by a variety of factors including life experience, family, and societal value systems. For example, a common bias is that Blues are all good and Reds must be bad.Wrong! The colors are neutral, each having strengths and weaknesses. We each choose to use his or her innate gifts or weaknesses through the course of his or her life.
Each of us must check the lens through which we view our own driving core motive or that of others. Every individual, irrespective of driving core motive, can choose a life path that leaves a positive or negative legacy.

Requirements of YOU
You are going to see yourself in living color – the totality of your driving core motive (DCM) and the way it plays into your life and work. Like looking into a mirror, you will see yourself for who you are. But just as looking in the mirror every day is not enough to make you who you are – it is only the first thing you do to start your day – taking the personality assessment and reading the analysis is only the first step in understanding how to improve yourself and your relationships. It requires dedication and commitment to principles that will guide your daily life. It is the difference between going to bed after morning’s first glance in the mirror versus getting dressed, going outside, and living each day as the first day of the rest of your life. These life-enriching requirements are as follows:

These life-enriching requirements are as follows:
Self-Awareness
Your first step is to understand who you are by thoroughly examining your driving core motive. This requires a willingness to accept the truth about your innate core and intricacies of that core.
Self-Development
Once you have figured out who you are – your driving core motive, strengths, and limitations, needs and wants – the next step is to identify how to become a better you based on your unique Color Code results. This includes, but is not limited to, downsizing your limitations, and adding to your quiver the strengths of all four driving core motives, a process called “building character” or “becoming charactered.
Interpersonal Relationships
No matter how you look at it, all life is about relationships, and business is surely not exempt. While promoting self-awareness and self-development is the basic goal, the real objective of the Color Code is to achieve the understanding that life is not all about you; rather it is how you relate with others. To master the principles of the Color Code, you must learn how to get outside yourself, improve the way you relate to others, and serve those within the sphere of your influence.
Way of Being
